April Flowers and the Oregon Coast

2016 Spring Getaway to the Coast via Seattle
Friday morning espresso, French pastries, and a stroll through Pike Place Market before heading south to Oregon... April means many spring flowers at the market, especially tulips. A striking red. Early morning light can be tough in the Market, but it's so quiet, it's just us and the vendors setting up. The sun finally gets high enough to shine through some of the windows. My Sweetie enjoying the colors and the fragrances.
Tough to isolate a single bloom in a photo, but this one had some nice natural light. I'm partial to yellows... ...and whites. Not your typical tulip. One of hundreds of varieties. Time to transition to the Pacific coast with a stop at the fish market. (Half a 'pus is better than none... I guess.) Saturday morning walk on Moolack Beach, heading toward Yaquina Head.
A cool, clear morning stroll before lattes in Newport. Enjoyed espresso at Stan's while being serenaded by California sea lions -- and offended by their farts. A warm offshore wind picks up as we enjoy the Heceta Head light all to ourselves on a Sunday morning. A nice trail in the woods clims up behind the light. One of my favorite spots / views on the Oregon Coast. "The" traditional scenic Orgeon coastal photo: Heceta Head.
Let's add some waves to soften the lines. Temps climbing into the 70's as we enjoy Washburn beach. Time to get our feet in the Pacific to cool off. Yvonne's Happy Place. Just a couple beaches north to Ocean Beach. It's in the 80's now. We've never had such a warm day, even in August. Taking in the view at Cape Perpetua, thinking of our salmon lunch we're about to enjoy in Yachats, OR. Yvonne at the Cape Perpetua visitors center.
Monday morning down at Stan's in Newport to have coffee and spend quality time with the pinnipeds. They seem so scerene and calm in photos... ...but they're always noisy, sometimes mean, and often stinky. All males, so that explains a lot.
